Wifey backed my Disco 2 into a shogun and now the rear offside corner panel which the rear lights are mounted in needs replacing.

The manual only talks about replacing the whole rear offside quarter as one unit, but I've managed to get hold of just the E pillar (where he lights are mounted) which I hope can be fixed in.

Has anybody done this repair before? How is the e pillar fixed to the rest of the panel ? Spot welds?

It is spot welded to the side panel (or is on the D1 at any rate). Mine is battered in the same place (Disco 1 3-door) but I think I'm going to try and get it beaten out rather than replace it.

Thanks very much for those answers. Essentially, it's probably easier to replace the whole quarter than the e pillar panel; or if you want to save a little bit of money.... You can replace the pillar but essentially still need to replace the panel.

Thanks for the link.
