Hi guys.. I have installed a dvd player (unsure of the make, some cheapo chineese thing, but its quite good)... The dvd player has a saftey feature that makes it say do not watch video while driving instead of showing the dvd.. only It dont come on when driving.. Its on whenever I switch the lights on.. So the question is, is there a wire on the iso connector in the discovery that would send this signal to the dvd player when the lights are on? its fine when the lights are off......

There is so that the headunit lighting would dim when the lights are turned on, so not to be to bright when driving at night. but im not sure which wire it would be.

Cheers mate thats a big help anyway... Time to get the old multimeter out and start the process of elimination.. I know it will be on the same connector as the live and ground so when the ign live, perm live and ground have been eliminated I think that only leaves about 4 wires to choose from.. None of whice are required for my set up anyway but I'll have a look tomorrow

Sorted it.... The ilumination wire, (pink on this model also) puts out a -5 v while lights are off and 12v when they are on.. Causing the message on the screen.. Cutting the wire didnt work because the 0 v still brought up the message.. So i checked the blue/white wire which gave out a -5v while the ignition was on... So connected the blue/white wire from the iso plug to the pink wire on the dvd player, making it think the lights are always off with the -5v and it now works fine..
