Hi all,

Been a while since I posted but still here and still loving my 90.

Question.

I am changing both dumb irons this weekend because of rust.

Any tips? or anything special I should know?

Thanks.

Do you launch boats with your Landy? There's another recent thread about welding new dumb irons. I'll go look for it, but neilly will beat me!:)

dont launch boats but pulled a few other stuck trucks.

So your bumper mounts well and lines up properly I would make sure you measure it very well or consider making a jig - or use the bumper as a "spacer" so you don't end up welding it all on then discover your bumper won't fit! Weld it in sections so it doesn't get too hot and warp, I would maybe run about 1 inch of weld then swap to the opposite side, or else you can end up with the metal warping and even if you line it up perfectly it will soon warp out of shape.
