Hi, av bin lookin at dual shock systems. Is it possible to put dual shocks ona landy wit a 2" lift on it already?? Also what does it actually do? and is ther any point in havin it? Cheers

I gave this answer to a similar question in the RR section about a month ago

Twin shocks are usually fitted to cure shock fading due to high speed use over rough ground. I used to look after a comp safari racer that had twin shocks all round. (racer now sold by owner BTW)

To be honest in most normal off road applications you are better off looking at your spring poundage if you are experiencing shock fade.

The proper solution to shock fade in speed applications is to use a single tunable shock with a remote reservoir. The reservior increases the capacity of the shock absorber without hugely increasing the diameter of the shock body.

HTH :)

ok let me get this right?
You think you will fit dual shocks but you dont know what they do.

Ok reasosons for twin shocks are:

to extend the life of dampers or to gain more damping action over a standard unit.

Used alot in off road racing,
Used alot for overland travel,
Used when vehicle is heavily laden frequently,

Twin shocks aid damping, decrease temperature in each corner when the shock is being used hard i.e. When comp safari racing. Seem a bit of an overkill on normal landys. Could possibly limit articulation if fitted badly to a off roader. Jai
