Hi, while driving at weekend i kept losing radio signal/ sound, eventually nothing other than a crackel.
came home today and did a bit of research and it seems to point to a DSP AMP problem, however after locating and dismantiling sub woofer all appeared ok i reassembeled and when i put cd changer back radio came on for a while then went off as before.
i kept removing and replacing cd changer afew times and radio would come on and go off, so am i still looking at a DSP AMP problem or somethingelse ???any help please.
i have a X- 2000 4.6 vogue
cheers Paul

It is more than likely the dsp amp is giving up the ghost. I replaced my knackered one with a new unit a few months ago and that has gone belly up already!! Luckily I got it cheap on ebay as a new one from a dealer is £450+. I'm biting the bullet and going aftermarket. I can't be dealing with the hanging about waiting for another one to come up on ebay, just for it to go tits up after a few months.

is that how they normanally go ie: play up a bit then pack up altogether ?
oh well will have to start looking.
cheers Paul

Do an international eBay search. I picked up a new one for $50 from the US.

There's 1 on there for $100, but they won't ship outside the US:(. Nothing else around at all.

Thats what happened to both mine. Would stop working intermittently and then gave up all together. Really thinking of ripping it all out and starting again with aftermarket stuff, just so I can sort the issue once and for all!!

You could open it up an look for dry solder joints. Nothing to lose as it's a dustbin job otherwise. There are specialist places that repair car radio kit, might be worth looking around for one.
