dse autobox same as td5?

is the td5 autobox the same as the dse autobox? what other models use the same box as the dse?im looking for a secondhand autobox for my 98 dse if anyone knows were i can pick one up in ireland. im in the sligo area.thanks
 
just checked out rave for ya and according to it , its t same box as t disco 2 , a zf 4hp 22. i m just south of you , pm me and i ll text ya some numbers,
 
jamesmartin, will t bell housing and the t box bolt onto t gearbox or is that slightly different also
 
there are many hp22 which are basically the same but what engine and transfer box fits on them is specific p38 has different engine and transfer box than other land rovers so gear box from p38 will only fit p38 ,you could by stripping box down and swapping parts fit eithe, or use internals as spares to repair each other

thanks for reply. so by useing bellhouseing and bits from my old box i can make any hp22 box fit my p38? prity skint at the mo and that would make such difrence in the price.
 
that may not be so, they may all be hp 22 but t primarybox drilling s may be different , i ve often seen this in other vehicles, the shortest way may just b t p38 box, check out p38 ireland on this site he has 2 coming next wk and he got a box from t uk last year for £300 . dont pay any money for a td 5 box until your full sure. did you change fluid yet.
 
didnt rechange fluid yet.im just out from hosp and would be workn in out in the snow. will drop atf as soon as i can.

ended up in hosp a cupl of hours aftr talkn to u that nite so havnt rechanged atf yet,
