I thought id stick the landy up on the lift to check all the nuts and bolts now its had a bit of a shakedown. Most of the uj nuts were loose so nipped them up and greased them. Then id thought id check the oil levels in the swivel balls as on was spraying a bit of oil over the outside of the wheel. The reason it stopped and i suppose why the other side didnt leak was obvious once i undone the drain plug, bone dry! Topped them both up according to specs and now await them both to start leaking.
On another note, i have oil dripping of of the timing belt cover. Completely forgot to replace the front crank oil seal when i had it in bits so will have to do that pretty sharpish.

When did you last top them up?

Do you not use 1shot grease in your balls?
Easier & does not always leak.

I'd be a bit concerned if the prop flange bolts were loose, as all the nuts should be nylocs.
You might be as well replacing them as they are only a 'one-use' component.

A more regular check needed and when found leaking new seals.
I am not a fan of one shot grease for older models that have oil in the housing and wheel bearings.
When put in it is cold and hides leak problems but when axle gets hot it escapes almost as easly as oil.

I think the problem is they were tightened up and never driven so now they have a few miles under there belt and settled in, they needed re torquing

I used to top them up each oil change, not sure what others do, probably a top up after MOT would make sense

I've used the one shot stuff for more than 10 years on series and the 1985 90". No problems so far. It is pretty runny, more like a very think oil than a grease.

Don’t forget to put a full lock on so your not trying to fill against the ball

im ahead of you there Phill.

How much do you put in? Specs say, 3.35 ml but filling until it dribbles out of filler hole takes about 6ml.

I put in 1 tube. Only time I use britpart for this as they come with a nice tube, better than the genuine one with a floppy end.

Ditto.
Nothing worse than trying to get a floppy end into a small hole, even if you have got full lock on.
