Hi,

Can anyone recommend a good quality drop link? I purchase ones off eBay for about £12 but end up changing the near side one every 9mths, the roads are quite bad by me with pot holes on that side but assume they should last a lot longer than they do at the moment.

It's probably just the cheap ones off eBay can't take it, so any advise would be good.

Cheers

Nick

Use a decent make, like Lemforder, as cheap ebay stuff fails very quickly, even the OE manufacturer Delphi have suffered reduced life of late.

The good thing about the cheap drop links failing quickly is that they are easy to get off cos rust hasn't had time to set in. Just buy half a dozen and you will be good for three years.

I learnt that lesson last year. Ebay special drop links lasted 3 months. Have Delphi drop links on now, hoping they last a little longer.

I probably should have know that would happen when my Ebay special track rod ends had to be replaced every year for the MOT. Current pair have been on almost two years now though after I replaced the boots which split after a few months.

Hi I replaced my drop links with Firstline items ( advertised as OE) as a matter of course after fitting new lower arms & complete set of powerflex bushes inc ARB. O/S one lasted 3,000 miles (about 3 1/2 months) the n/s lasted 14,000 miles (16 months) so I fitted some Lemforder ones which have now done about 8,000 miles (about 9 mths) & are fine. I know they're easy to change but you start looking for other faults if you hear knocking knowing you only changed the drop links a few miles ago so I would stick with Lemorder ones despite the higher initial cost.
