so, a FULL month after repairing the ace, it is back with vengeance... red warning light now... not sure what is wrong, pump is circling, and there is only a slight leak in the valve block from what i can see. Removed the ace relay so there is no more leakage now. I want to take the valveblock out to repair it, convert it to standard hydraulic fittings. As it is my only vehicle, is there a way to safely use the car while the valve block is out?

Identify the outlet from the pump and the return to tank at the block and use a piece of proper ID hydraulic hose and clips as to connect them together when the block is off... then the fluid will recirculate through the pump, no real pressure then.

If you mean "safely" as in "not flying off the road on bends" then yes.
We found on ours, the one time it played up and stopped working, it drove just like a normal car with anti-roll bars. and our journeys consisted of going up and down a steep mountain road with 44 bends in it 3 hairpins, a drop and rise of 360 metres, this journey taking 10 minutes.
Our normal trip into town.
TBH it was very little different.
When I got home, just for info, I tried to see what was wrong with it, took the fuse out, put it back in again and it has worked normally ever since.
As with ABS, it is stupid if anyone "relies" on it. Like a mate of mine did who then came off the road, or another van driver did who drove onto our side of the road and hit us. Just rememebr the E in ACE is Enhancement, not a replacement for anti roll bars.
There are peeps who have taken the whole system off and just drive with normal ARBs and if mine played up it is prolly what i would do.
