I have a clunk in the drive train when changing gear. I am suspecting that it is play in the front axle. Planning on jacking the landy up this weekend and checking for slack.
Any advice on what would bethe best procedure and how much is acceptable slack in components?
I noticed the other day when I had the front end jacked up that I could turn the front prop shaft about 30 before it was turning the front wheels so am thinking this is where the problem is?
If this is the problem is it more likely to be the diff or play in the shafts?
How viable is it to rebuild the front axle?
I know a lot of ifs but am sure I am not the first person with this issue.
Going to check the rest of the drive train as well to make sure not faults elsewhere.
It is a 89 110 with only about 70k on the clock.
Any help or advise appreciated
Andy
