Hello all,

After 2 years of troblefree motoring in my P38-I think it's catching up.

My heated windscreen stopped working, the o-rings started to leak and now I have a problem with the drivers window.

As I raised the window when driving along, it got to the top and started to make a hell of a noise. It was still trying to go up even though it was at the top.
I managed to stop it-I now get the message -window not set-but it when getting to the top with the button pressed the motor does not stop.

Any ideas most welcome-Is there a regulator and is it easy to fix.

All the best

Steve

take the door card off and you will see the gubbins inside the door, there is 3 rvets holding the reg. in, drill these out carefully as they also keep the reg. in the correct place. put in new reg using small nut and bolts. get the nut and bolts to be a snug fit so the window runs square and smooth when operated!

Hi, i replaced mine about a month ago, took about an hour and i aint no expert, just make sure you fit the motor in the correct cog on the regulator or when you get all finished up and think what a clever guy you are then set off for a drive it sounds like a hurricane in your lug cause window cant get fully up, so back you have to go, strip it all out again, alter motor n cog position then replace it,now 1 hr job has taken most of the afternoon, but at least its fixed.
ps to reset the message "window not set" open and close the window in one contingues movement and it should set itself.
Good luck.
