drivers side door handle

noticed today cracking around the drivers side lock and underneath the handle

will need to buy a new one, the lock hasn't been messed around with and think it's down to wear and tear

has anyone else experianced this plse,

doesn't look too bad to change , famous last words

was just wondering how common this is

Mine cracked the other year. Took it out and super glued it. Been fine since. The Plastic does seem a bit thin for its intended use.

I replaced my drivers door handle last year as it had cracked under where the lock is. Plenty on eBay.

I'd say the drivers door is probably the hardest to do, I found trying to get the rod on the end of the door lock back into the latch a bit fiddly, because you're mostly working by feel...

Be careful not to over tighten the bolts that hold the handle on, I think that was mine had cracked.

cheers guys for the info

at first I did think someone had tried to get into the car, but on further looking the lock was fine and expect with the way the handle is designed by lifting it up and 13 years old is down to wear and tear

thanks also for the warning about over tightening , I replaced my aerial base and broke it by just having that one last nip up of the socket and broke it
