Well the drivers door stopped opening on the fob a couple of weeks ago, though it does lock on the fob.
Sounds like a standard issue so needs replacing.
Searched the usual on line sources and can't believe the prices people are expecting for a 20 year old part that is prone to failure. Some are £40 but others expect £60+ for a part that could also fail very soon!
Anyway, as i'm intending on keeping this vehicle for many more years I'm not paying that sort of money out for a dubious old part so I have found a genuine part through e-bay from a woodacre 4x4 (Roger Young dealership apparently) for £112. Says I should get it by Friday so lets see.
Just thought I'd share.

OK the update is this; the part arrived double quick time today (Thursday), genuine LR part and I fitted it when I got in from work.
All good, working great again now and I have a new part for little more than an old clapped out one is selling for secondhand.
I'd now recommend woodacre 4x4 for price and delivery.

I've since taken the good motor out of the old lock in readiness should I want to try to fix the next one that goes.
I heard people have to remove the window and frame but I didn't remove anything I simply prised the frame across enough to get the lock out with a bit of twisting.
Putting the new one in was far easier than taking the old one out.
