Hi there, really hoping for help, i’ve been experiencing the on going issue and all too common issue of a soaking passenger footwell on LR4 HSE, i’ve had my local specialist clear the drains on four occasions but the problem persists, i’ve scoured many sites and tried the obvious fixes to this frustrating problem (blocked drains etc). Just wondering if there is any further insights or suggestions to remedy this, also curious if I should replace rubbers on the sunroof itself too.. please help. Many thanks in advance.

Not sure on the 4 but on the 3 the left front roof drain exits the car behind the fuse panel ending up in the inner wheel arch behind the plastic liner, the rubber joiner can split allowing the water to exit from the pipe into the car, so the drains might be clear but the exit rubber is knackered.
Unsure if you know but the roof has 4 drains 2 front and 2 rear?
The two rear drains run down the c pillars and exit just behind the 2nd row rear passenger seat belt buckles, fiddly buggers to get to.

Could also be screen leak which is not always obvious, a/c drain leak/blocked and roof rail fixings leaking.

Always a good idea to post in the introduce section especially with pics as people will be interested due to your location.

Hey Lynall,
Thanks for your reply, love this car it my 2nd disco 4, but not loving all the possible water issues.. i’ve now taped up the front sunroof, I agree there is a good chance that there could be a crack in the front pillar drains so ill set about replacing those which looks to be a bit fiddly, im also going to replace the front windscreen cowling as that looks pretty faded and is another possible culprit.. im pretty sure the AC over flow is not to blame..

I do however feel that the actual rubber seals on the operational roof glass and the perimeter of the roof opening could benefit from replacement as even when closed it doesn’t look a great seal and I have heard air coming through.

that leaves the roof rails which I have heard about.. how do you best address these?
Many thanks

I think you will find no sunroof is totally water tight, and thats why they all have drain trays.
The roof rail leak is the only one I have never had on the D3 (had D2 rails leaked passed the mounting bolts), but have read of other people having the issue

There is of course the heater air intake that can get water in dripping off the scuttle panel, check your pollen filter, if its wet then this is your culprit, cure is cut down plastic jig to act as a partial shield.
Oh I almost forgot the leaking A frame pillar holes under the outer black plastic screen trim.

On the plus side at least D3/4 only have the one opening sunroof!
