HELP!!!! Big moment today in moving project 90 V8 along. Rear tub on and aligned with bulkhead nicely with trust string. All going well, suspiciously well !! and then I offered up one of the new doors !!!!!
I know the gaps are not set yet but can anyone tell me WTF is going on here.

Seems way out and I can't get the door to drop any further and in any event the gap at the bottom of the door to the sill (when fitted) seems about right (Checked against my factory 110). The door could maybe come down a few mm if I file out the bulkhead j nut holes but not as much to correct the situation above the
top hinge. Any thoughts? Vehicle

was a hedge find so new chassis, bulkhead and doors. Tub and wings are original.

Has the bulkhead had new A posts perhaps?
Rubbish doors?
Obvious thing to do is measure the hinge bolt heights on the other vehicle and compere.

Possibly the holes in your new doors slightly out? surely if the bulkhead and rear tub lines up nicely.

That's the weird thing. Bulkhead is a complete new unit and everything measures up pretty well compared to 2015 110. The change in angle from door pillar to vent panel is maybe 5mm lower on the inside angle than on the 110 bulkhead. New doors measure well against 110 originals. Hinges are a few mm high in the door pillars so I could maybe file the J nut slots a bit to drop them. I guess its sort of marginal gains. A few mm here and there in the wrong direction and its adds up to odd gaps elsewhere. And it was going to well! I naively thought I would nip out for 10mins earlier and hang a door. Hhahahahahahahhahaha. Should have known better. Was hoping for a magic fix or i'd done something stupid. Perhaps its just a case if filing and shimming and back to standard Land Rover operation procedure!!

As a final thought is there any known compatibility issue with early 90 doors and later bulkheads? I'm assuming the main geometry and dimensions of doors and bulkheads have stayed the same from 1984 to last defender production. I once fitted S3 split doors to a 300TDI and they fitted no problem so i'm assuming answer is yes but defer to the more learned for thoughts. Thanks

These are the hinge slots and j nuts I have. The is fwd and aft movement but virtually no vertical adjustments when they are in. Is that correct?

Take one of your 110 doors off and use as test fit. If they're the same as the new blue doors file out J nut whole to drop
That would be my advice, or fit one of the new doors to the 110 and see if it lines up on that to check the new doors.
