draining steering oil

whats best way to drain my steering oil?
its a 1990 110 200tdi
am going to really go to town on old girl over next few months ready for big trip in aug.

Unless its contaminated is there much point? I changed mine recently after the pump failed and it was still like new.

I just took the hose off and drained it out.

the easiest way is to put a longish rubber pipe on bleed nipple to drain tin ,and with engine running keep reservoir full till clean oil comes out of pipe,
