Hiya

apologises haven’t caught up with this

great u got it back up running and indeed getting the kit should help keep the the compressor running along with the desiccant to keep the air dry

u can for now , put the old desiccant through a colander to get rid of the dust and then into a microwave for a min or so to dry it

indeed as mentioned there’s an exhaust solenoid on the compressor which opens to release the air pressure when it reaches the preset Psi and also when the landy is turned off it vents again to keep the reservoir gallery pressure within the system

the other pipe on the end of the dryer will be ur air inlet , so when the compressor turns on it sucks air via a plastic silencer that sits near the back on the landy , through the desiccant which dries the air as it enters the system

hope that helps and once again apologises missing ur thread

Hi all, quick update, so all went well for 4 weeks after installing the service kit for the compressor, HOWEVER! lol

the pump failed again after 4 weeks, once i stripped it down again i found that the silver plunger at the end of the filter housing was sticking, when i recived the service kit the replacement white grease was missing so i sorta re-used the old, and i found that the old hard stuff was not giving enough lub, so i cleaned and used some Teflon bike grease and presto!

I think im going to find a LR 110, after 26 years service and driving them in many countries cant fault them! but then again i did start off in the series 3s! or maybe our mechanics were just very good!
I wouldn't, having worked on them for about a decade, I can tell you the amount of bodges we put in place with "the next guy's problem" I'd hate to have to rectify an old Army rover. Much rather guide my dad into my mum.
