I have a 95 disco. sometimes when i turn off the key and open the door i can still operate the windows and the AC fan. If im not mistaken the accessories should work until i open the door, but im not sure. If i am right then it could be a door switch but if I'm wrong i would guess the clock spring is bad.

Anybody run into this before or have any advice?

Thats correct with the window but there is only a short time period 10 secs or something like that, the info is in the owner's handbook. I have never had the need to to touch the a/c controls after opening the door unlike when forgetting to close the window so that delay is handy.

Sounds to me like a dickey door switch. You should have a 45 second delay after removing the key and before opening the door to close windows/sunroof (if fitted). Once the driver's door is opened then this over rides the timer relay (annoyingly). How are your interior lights? Do they dim as they should? I am not sure where the timer takes it's power from but I suspect it is all part of the interior lighting and possibly the alarm system, which also uses a timer delay before arming fully.

This idea could of course be total b*****s, but it's the thought that counts!!!!!!

thanks guys i look at it today and with what you said im almost positive that its that door switch im going to see if i can find a wrecking yard that has one
