On Tuesday Carole went out shopping in her TD4 Freelander 1 (3 door 2004). I was doing the washing up when she returned and could see the drivers side door wasn't shutting. Just as well it wasn't when she was out shopping. I had noticed a clicking noise from the door myself and noted it for further investigation later. ~No one mentioned it had got worse of course.
As I correctly assumed it was from the bar that stops the door opening too far. I assumed it was inside the door and put it off however. It was actually the two bolts that retain it which can be viewed on the lower front edge of the door one had gone and the other was loose. Of course to get it back in place to tighten the one remaining bolt you have to remove the door furniture. Where we discovered the door pull was showing damage and the lower plastic membrane had been pierced where someone had obviously been before.
Does anyone know off hand what size the retaining bolt is?
Other than that a year on no major or minor problems apart from a brake switch related warning lights issue. As soon as I bought a new version switch and wiring it stopped so I haven't even fitted it yet.
