Can anyone tell me where I can buy some online? My doors click like mad when opening and closing, it does ma head in,

Thanks

Kyle

You,ll find that replacing the stays and pin wont cure the clicking, as the hole that the pin goes through on the lug thats welded to the door post will be elongated.

I ended up drilling it out and putting a stainless steel pin in.

I havent looked right closely but the pin doesnt look to be jumping in the lug.
I will have to look closely and if thats the case, I will drill mine out too and fit an oversized pin.
Thanks for the reply

What year is your Disco, as I remember we had to do a mod in the first year of production on the Disco 2, It was the bracket on the A post moving but we cured them after that. The pin was a tapered roll pin on all Disco 2 models in production.

Its a 99 'V'
What was the modification that was done?

Thanks

The original bracket was facing you on the A post & had a monobolt through it (like a large rivet) it wasnt strong enough & the bracket used to click as it jumped when the Checkstrap moved, the mod was a run of weld down the side of the bracket, but later on the bracket was put inside the A post at the side. Mine is a 2000MY X reg, mine has the later type bracket.

The bracket is welded to the A post for the front doors, but it is bolted to the post for the rears.

I had looked into weather I could cut the front one off and replace it with a rear bolt on one.

The problem is that as the pin starts to wear it moves around and then wears the stay and the bracket.

I suppose, ideally, the £0.50p pins should be replaced every couple of years before the wear sets in.
