Door rattle - infuriating

Hi all

I've a really annoying rattle coming from the door area. It happens whenever the road is less than perfectly smooth.

The only way I can get it to stop is with the window open, by clamping the top of the door to the frame with my hand. Not a very safe driving position.

So I assume its the lock mechanism. The door seems to shut solidly enough, and there's no movement in the door itself. I've had a look inside the door and nothing is obviously loose.

Anyone had similar and/or know what it is?

Sounds to me like the doors not aligned properly. Or yr door rubbers need replacing.


Failing that turn the radio up

might be the wee plastic bit where the door meets the catch is worn. Mines does it an odd time at tick over, so ah just wind the window up a bit tighter
