door mirror adjustment

hi peeps,it might seem a bit of a daft question,can the movement of the door mirror as the whole unit that you fold in to stop people knocking it of be adjusted as mine now moves its self whilst driving,its still stiff to move but it doesnt seem to lock in position any more.
