Door locks

Hi,

I've heard the discovery has problems with the door locking and mine seems to be no exception I have been having trouble with the drivers door now to the point hwere I can't open it from the outside. I move the key in the lock but there is no resistence. I have taken the door card off and there is an off white plastic circle at the end of the lock with a rod attached to it however part of this has broekn off.

Is there any easy was to patch it up or is it a big job and what part am I looking for

The part is shown as included with the external door handle on a D1.
If it's a D1 u have, can u not make the part from a bit of alloy sheet.

possibly got an old 83 Rangie with central locking is that likely to have the same part?

Hi bigray, I would think so, they have the same handles.

After some more digging it is part of the handle and the Classic Rangie handle is no good due to the alarm
