Memo to the combined Sages

With a new MOT and the A/C problem licked its time to look at the minor problems.
P38 R reg Feb 1998 4.0SE
All door locks lock and unlock with key in drivers door, ignition barrel works, and I've never had a problem with EKA keys or immobilization.
BUT
Remote Key fob has never work remotely,
I've even had another key ordered from the squealers and that also works "mechanically" in the door lock, and the ignition, but doesn't work remotely.
I've also bought from a breakers a new receiver and thats made no difference.

So I'm a bit lost as to what to try next.

Any ideas guys?

"All door locks lock and unlock with key in drivers door"

but I'm lazy, and the wife is always last out of the car, and I seem to be at least 20 foot away from the car when she finally slams the door, I'm fed up of having to walk back to the car and lock it manually.

Do you really think I haven't tried every combination of turns and twists, read throu and search posts. etc etc
turned to the left, turn to the right, I,ve tried it all.

I put the date of registration (feb 1998) as I believe that at that date the ignition barrel has a sensor that ties in with the key, so don't need no "turn to the left turn to the right"

What are you thinking, stop it now..............

I've just doubted myself and gone out (in the dark) and tried what you suggested and no it still isnt working.

try it again, i did it earlier today with me mates, i put the key in pressed and held the lock button turned the key to lock whilst still holding lock and removed the key... it took several attempts but it worked he now has 2 working fobs, so get ur ass out side and try it again :D

I have the key that came with the car, And I have a new key supplied by a local independent , and after that got a key supplied from the local main squealer.
They all work mechanically, how would I get them tested to see if they are transmitting?
