I have to always use the key to open the car as when I bought it second hand the centralised locking didn't work. Went to Hunters in Guildford and they discovered that the electronic unit didn't match the vehicle - had been changed at some time and to get a new gizmo would cost around £1200 so decided just to use the key.
However, recently it is becoming increasingly more difficult to unlock the car, locking is fine, and I am concerned that one day I won't be able to get in as there is no keyhole on the passenger door.
Any thoughts please -

Think i would be taking a second opinion on that. Gizmo must be BECM and it must be taking to vehicle or you would not be able to start it. It needs to go on proper diagnostics. And you need to strip and clean your door lock. Or fit a new one as that maybe the reason the central locking is duff.

Thought he sold all his gear to some other geezer....somewhere/someone in Scotland seems to ring a bell....

Rick the Pick maybe able to help too...

Yea, Jim Snap-On bought it but he hasn't been too active on here of late.
