i had this the other week new door latch to fix the problem you can maybe free it up and get it working like i did but it only lasted about 2 weeks and it did it again

Yep I have the same problem, going to see if I can fix it long term, if not as already said a replacement door lock actuator with be needed.
I don't know if this is possible on a Freelander, but my wife drives an 04 Zafira and one rear door won't unlock on the fob but will unlock using the handle inside.
It is a known weakness with Zafira's that the cables from the pop up buttons become brittle and snap.
Once the cables are re-joined it works fine.
Could it perhaps be the same thing here?
Obviously, these things do pack up eventually and need replacing.

I Have similar with my Freelander. All doors lock on the button but you need to press the unlock button at least 3 times for all doors to unlock otherwise it only unlocks the drivers door. And the tail gait is just as bad since you need to lift the handle several times before it finally opens.

Twice perhaps? The driver's door unlocks on the first press and the others with the second press.

1st press drivers door unlocks 2nd press one of the rear doors unlocks 3rd press all doors unlock.
