P38A Door handle knowledge please?

In between struggling with the water pump I'm also trying to fix a broken door handle. Front drivers side has got a broken stem - see photo. I have seen replacement handles with the stem attached on e-bay - but they are really expensive in chrome.
Does any one know if the stem is a replaceable part - and of so how do you remove the stub stuck in the handle? - Or - do I just have to bite the bullet and buy a new handle?

Door handle? Don't you mean internal "Door-pull"?
Never had to mess with one because I haven't been ham-fisted enough to break one.

Those are Vogue spec handles, never really heard of them snapping off, unless they're given a yank.
HOWEVER how it was broken is irrelevant.
From what i can see i doubt you could replace/fix that stem..

I'd find a 2nd hand handle, or throw on a early spec plastic handle, cheaper IIRC

They are on the bay for between £15 - £30 for a set, was thinking of getting some for mine.

Gorilla? I might be a fine specimen but hardly an ape. (ok, yes i’m an ape, but not like that). It wasn’t abused, sort of. the outside handle broke or at least the plastic clip inside did leaving the ‘door pull’ the only way opening the door for a day or two until that broke too!

That pin looks like its got a thread on the end thats snapped, should be repairable , but if you can get a cheep one no point,

It does a bit like a thread - but it isn't, it is a groove where a circlip fits - which is where it has sheared.
New handle it is then.
