door fault

hi all

went out today and all doors worked came back and the rear r/h door wont open from the outside.

i reach round and it works fine from the inside thank god cild lock wasnt on.

any ideas????? i will look tomorrow but its wet and dark now.

Is it a disco? A sticking C/L actuator may be, but depending on the model then.......

spring broken on locking mechanism pehaps, It is a common fault.

I agree broken spring unlock the doors & get someone to hold the button up on the inside if the outside handle works then i'd say definitely the spring.Make sure you get the right spring they are handed.

Just buy a full set, you will need them all within the next six months.

got the same problem on me front drivers door absolute pain in the arse. Get out at a petrol station fill up go have me eyes taken out then when I come back look like a div having to reach round through the back door just to be able to get back in the ****er or using the key even though it's just opened on the button. Door pin rises but is about 1mm too low so the ****er still wont open so either got to push it up the last little bit with the key or reach round and pull the pin up and whn you shut the door it drops just that little bit so ya can't open the fooker again

Just changed my tailgate spring what a marathon that was but once out and new spring went in it all went back together only took about 3hrs in the rain couldn't have done it without Mr Broom

The tailgate was the only one I didn't have to change on my old Disco, but after doing the first one of the other doors I got it down to about 30 mins, start to finish once I knew what to do..
