right here we go. had the rangie now for 9 months love it to bits even tho it does keep u on ur toes.for the last 4 months its run like a sack o s**t in petrol reasonable on gas so took it back to gas man he ****ed about with it for 2 hours supposed to be a top notch gas installer( to b quite honest he knows as much about it as l do and its 15 years since i installed gas kits on cars) so l was at a freinds house who is a service manager at the local jag dealer he took one look under the bonnet and said if u stook ur head in the gas oven at 180 degrees could u breathe well no l said well how do u expect that to do the same . so took the k&n filter off fitted the correct filter housing and a new filter all flat spots gone on gas goes like a excercet missile. whist at work yesterday our fitter said ive just got a new engine diagnostic kit shall we try it on ur rangie wont work l said plugged it in hey presto 2 fault codes p1319 and p0134 which is no1 sensor on bank 1 cleared the faults monitored the live data on a road test came home 40 miles runs like a dream so going to fit a new sensor and wait. so dont knock all these cheap kits try it first.(sorry its along post)

K&N or any oil based filter is no good on a P38. Can also damage the MAF. If it was a cone type with the filter housing removed all it was doing was sucking in hot air from the engine bay.
What diagnostic kit is this?

Any standard OBDII reader should work on the petrol engines. It's just that they won't do any other system. Proscan is very good for most vehicles.

it was just a cheap nasty k&n cone type the biggest problem was all gas kits req a certain amount of vacuum in the airfilter to operate the maf sensor on the gas line as the k&n was just letting it go straight through the electrics for the gas were doing nothing but now with the correct box on and getting fresh air from where it should be everything is hunky dory did ask the prick that fitted the gas did he want me to get a air filter box but he said no what a prick . he also lost the breather pipe from the rocker box to the throttle body couldnt be bothered searching for it bodged up a pipe was using 2 liter of oil to 300 miles now since l found the pipe resting on the engine mounting benn 1500 miles round france plus 1000 miles going to work and bac it wants about 1/2 pint to bring it up to max

tried one or two in the past wammers but no joy but the sealy one was very good did everything we asked it just waiting to see if the fault comes back or wheather with the gas being so far out it triggered the faults like i say runs a dream now no erratic running either

Proscan V580 will do quite a lot on many vehicles. Read live data and clear fault codes.

well just been out on a mercy mission done about 20 miles,on gas and petrol cant beleive how bad it was before (did 1500 miles round france like that) it goes like it should a lot of problems have gone main one the gear box now changes instantly i all the ecu,s linke one for wammers i think
