 Was your air intake completely standard at that point?

Yes.effectively ... other than I'd sealed the joints and rotated the air inlet out of the wheel arch so it pointed up and back, sort of 45 degrees, into the space between inner and outer wing. I'd gone through a puddle a few weeks previous and it coughed, spluttered and puffed white smoke a tad at that, so I checked it all out. I did have axle and gearbox breathers on too.

A week or so later i got the snorkel .. ;)

 Your either very brave or crackers. And I'm not talking Christmas ones either. :p

I initially paddled in, in my landrover, knowing exactly where my air filter was, and other limitations of my landrover, then reversed back out, unbolted my airfilter and sat it on top of the wing (see picture), then wound a reverse light switch into the timing cover, then drove all the way through with my head out the window

I kind of have a wading blanket, in the form of a thin piece of board which sits behind the intercooler and in front of radiator for engine temperature control when it’s fookin cold out

Tbh your filter would've been better off in the engine bay with a wading blanket/coat/plastic bag/anything you can find covering your rad.

Not brave .. st00pid, foolhardy, adventurous, and I wanted to!

I believed ....

i learnt my lesson hydrolocking my series engine , so will now only go up to my sills

believe or not this made it unscathed :rolleyes:

TBF I dont have inner wings so the engine bay would fill up more than normal, not that you could have know that
