Somerset/Dorset Offroading

Is there anyone based around the Somerset/Dorset area who can please shed some light on some good offroad pay & play or general good spots to go?

I have a Defender and I've recently moved near Yeovil, however it seems the surrounding area is extremely low on byways. It'd be great to have somewhere to put it to the test every now n then.

Hi Joe,

If you haven't joined GLASS, worth doing so as they are likely to have a local group that regularly run the lanes. Locally we have Dorset Land Rover Club.
If you haven't done them, try the Ox Drove (Shaftesbury (ish) to Salisbury) and the Shafesbury Ridgeway (just north of the Ox Drove). Non-technical but great scenary. Also worth a trip to drive the ridgeway from Corfe Castle. It's a special place, so please be mindful of the privelages that we have being permitted to drive it.

Some very good recommendations. There are also some very good lanes south of Bristol and Bath. Well worth joining GLASS or a local club to go with a group. There are also some very good groups on FB.
