going to be doing my cam belt at the weekend, anything i should know? will it be ok just to put a belt on? or will it need rollers? its done 141k

thanks

one trick i was given was to split the old belt lengthways - then yu can get the new belt on without risking the timing moving, When the new belt is partially on, then the old belt can be removed.

mind yu - i havent tried it

lock the flywheel? why do i need to do that? take it its got marks on the cam, crank and pump, just make sure they in the same place as when you remove the belt right?

Best bet is to get a full kit and change then tensioner and idlers as well. This is always my practise whatever engine it is.

I would also change the front timing cover oil seal as well as a matter of course.

Agreed, it's what I do as well when I'm running a car with cambelt.
