Hi
Just got a 2001 Freelander TD4
Iv just taken the radio cassete out and replaced it with a Kenwood, I want to put the Philips in my caravan, but has no code, does anyone know if frezing resets it back to its factory settings?
Been to Land Rover, but they cant help
Thanks

Oh yeah!

Just heard 5 mins in the caravan's microwave is guaranteed to sort it out - only the recommendation is to put it in there then leave the building!

if this is the philips/blaupunkt series i may be able to decode it from the serial number (if i can find my software on the other puter);)

Urban myth mate............ i not a clue how this myth started?

the dealers will know the code if you call them with all your details and the vin number. may cost a few quid but better than wrecking a half decent radio.

I must admit I had a good laugh at this one, the history behind this came from the very first Phillips LCD display type radios with pin code, it was possable to subject them to a vast temp change and they lost there memory, but that was some 20 years ago!!!!

Code reading point is at the rear of the radio any dealer with the correct reader will sort it out for you, personaly I buy a decent radio for the job!

Cheers Dutch RR
