Nice photos and explanation Artic2, thanks mate. Just wondering why you never bypassed the EGR? I was under the impression that was the best way to sort it once and for all.

I am one of those people whom think if a part is fitted it is fitted for a reason, and I prefer to change the EGR along with the manifold each Spring & Autumn nice thread here for those whom wish to find out the for and against EGR bypass

I just read several pages of the thread you listed and still waiting to find a good reason to do the bypass.
My company car shows average MPG over long term and I find it very easy (by adjusting driving style) to make big changes to the numbers. I do wonder if the mpg improvements some people find are more to do with them driving differently because they are more conscious of what they are doing.
I also wonder if the performance improvements have as much to do with proper servicing and possibly fitting a Ronbox or similar at the same time as doing the bypass.
