Does anybody know what this does? See Pic

Hello chaps, what does the damper and shield bracket actually do? Part 17 ) I know its the bottom anchor point for the brake disc shield, does it do anything special because land rover have bummed up on this one because, there's 2 T-40 Bolts that hold the bottom swivel pin in and there totally exposed to the elements, what was ment to be an easy job turned into a hour long screw fight with a rounded off T-screw, i recommend if you havent already done so to put a blob of grease in there to protect it from the elements, does anybody know where to get a new one from plus bolts? thanks for looking Ian, http://photos-a.ak.fbcdn.net/photos-ak-snc1/v2735/47/91/515963368/n515963368_1598056_8088900.jpg

take all those bloody shields off, all they do is collect crap and rust your discs and bolts. i take all mine off and everthing stays nice and clean, apart from a bit of brake dust but thats better that rust!

Doesnt that affect the MOT in anyway?

nope never had trouble

What Tig says. Dump the brake sheilds. Front and rear. No MOT problem what so ever.
