Afternoon gents
Does anyone have any good photos of fitting box section sills preferably on a 3 door?
All the old threads pictures seemed to have expired.

Thanks :)

Just support the body well when you cut the sills out so it doesnt get out of shape.
Whenever worried about whether a body could get out of shape, particularly a soft top without a separate chassis, I expect to have to weld in bars to keep things in place before removing rusty material. Door sills on a MGB roadster for example. So thanks for the heads up. :)

Bumping this posted up. Someone must have some old pics knocking about.
Do you need to cut part of the floor out?
Did people fabricate there own mounts or buy standard?
If they fabricated there own what did people do for bushes?
Thanks

I did mine with box section, was a few years ago so memory isnt perfect.
As above, support the body, I did this with wooden wedges between the floor and chassis/body mount points. I bought box section the same size as the original sills to keep the look (I think 100mm where a lot of people seem to use 120)
Only bits of the floor I cut out were the rusty bits, bought new mounts for ease although I believe they are a fair bit dearer now.
I left about an inch of the old sills in then using bottle jacks pushed the box section up between them and welded to that rather than to the floor.
Not sure how much different a 3 door would be but it wasnt a bad job really, it was quicker than repairing the rear arches
