hi people, when my disco is moving i can hear a metallic, ringing sound from underneath, it doesn`t happen all the time and i don`t really notice any effects on steering or suspension. i have looked underneath checked the props and can`t find anything that looks loose or worn the front prop was changed 2 or 3 months ago for a second hand 1. any ideas lads?

Have a look at the front output flange from the transfer box, between the flange and oil seal there's a thin tin mud shield, mine came loose and was spinning on the flange, made that sort of noise.

check them stupid flimsy 'guards' just behind ya brake disks, seen a few of these rust out and start flapping round. also check along the length of ya zorst and make sure all the mounts are ok and nothing is just catching on it and resonating

To help locate where the noise is coming from, get a mate to stand at the side of the road as you drive by slowly - I found the rattling noise on mine were the brake pads in the calipers. Only noticed it at crawling speed.
