hi all ive got an oil leak in a strange place had 2 mechanics look at it and still no joy....
hoping someone may have a clue ?
its coming out somewhere near the alternator ?
its a discovery 300tdi,
ive steamed it a few times, run it and no sign of a leak.... drive it for a bit and oil everywhere ?
im rather confused if anyone has any ideas your advice would be great...
i'll take a piture of the leak/oily area and post it up...

Thanks in advance...

The greay hose approx 1 inch daimeter that runs behind next to alternator. Its likley that it has has worn through probably becauise its rubbing against a water hose clip or turbo hose clip

If it's just a a covering of oil over the right side of engine / bay, check that all the turbo hose clips are tight and the pipes are on properly.

I had a similar problem, the pipes and cooler needed cleaning out too, these turbos seem to run a little oily.
