If the original aint playin ball, I would name and shame em, report them to all the relevant bodies, go to local news paper with photos and certs. and name and shame all those involved.

i would have thought vosa inspection to get the mot garage in trouble then trading standards to get the dealer in trouble...

Hi
private sale, told me ebay winner couldn't collect and I agreed to buy over the phone.
old chap giving up driving was selling, with son doing the calls. I felt I couldn't suck teeth and point out faults and so drove it home , broke down couple of times with seized back brakes and cab moving about. I bet it was MOT'd over the phone..................MOT garage collected following morning.
Bloody mess. I am too soft to buy cars. I should just build them.

DVSA called this morning. Car is still in Stourbridge where the MOT station is, the DVSA inspector will go there to inspect. Judging from their (the MOT PLACE) willingness to collect it on Tuesday "to look at it" they may have given it an MOT........................................

i wouldn't be suprised if they fixed the issues.. will you get charged for the dvla guy is it's all ok?

I don't know. Perhaps I shouldn't have let them have it back. I expect they have been really bad in the past and have now spent 3 days putting it right...

either way, at least it should be sorted

you never know, maybe they have got really paranoid and have replaced anything even slightly iffy..

Or sourced one of the same body type and colour in decent nick and just swapped the id tags and number plate over
