I hope these photos work.

I have started on the stripdown of the old bulkhead. While I’m doing the rebuild, I’m also removing all the previous owners bodged attempts at wiring. One of them, I think, is this one. It’s a standard 30A relay that appears to do nothing, although it’s wired to be permanent live. It’s located on the left hand side of the fuel filter. It isn’t the glow plug relay as that is on the right hand side of the fuel filter.

It connects directly to the battery positive post with this very poorly crimped ring connector.

This is the relay in situ.

Between the two is this connector.

Does anyone know for certain if this is some sort of “standard” wiring, and what it’s for, or is it certainly someone’s sorry excuse at wiring something in?

Non standard. All important/genuine relays are with the fuse box inside
Did You have spot lights?

I had 4 off 36W led ones on the roof rack, but the wiring for them went out the roof at the rear. I can remember some dodgy looking heavy gauge black wire around the slam panel and in front of the radiator. I wonder if that was attached to the clear terminal on that relay? It would make sense. I will rip it out when I move the bits from the old bulkhead to the new!

Much appreciated.
