I have started on the stripdown of the old bulkhead. While I’m doing the rebuild, I’m also removing all the previous owners bodged attempts at wiring. One of them, I think, is this one. It’s a standard 30A relay that appears to do nothing, although it’s wired to be permanent live. It’s located on the left hand side of the fuel filter. It isn’t the glow plug relay as that is on the right hand side of the fuel filter.
It connects directly to the battery positive post with this very poorly crimped ring connector.
This is the relay in situ.
Between the two is this connector.
Does anyone know for certain if this is some sort of “standard” wiring, and what it’s for, or is it certainly someone’s sorry excuse at wiring something in?
