Firstly I'd like to thank everyone who has already replied to my previous posts, but I have a new problem which can be quite annoying. When I go to start the engine, turn the key but nothing happens. Keep turning it off then back to start and wiggleing it a lot. Eventually it starts! Just wondered if the ignition switch is likely to go wrong or maybe its a relay? I'm sure I can get a new one fairly cheap, but it would put my mind at rest if anyone else had suffered problems.

Also I still don't know what some of the controls do on my dash! There are two black knobs that you pull out, one to the right of the speedo and one on the other side. Can someone put me out of my misery. My car is a series 2a with 2.8TD daihatsu but I think it was originally petrol so maybe one of the controls is for choke.

Thanks

one is a choke and the other could be many things on mine it is a maunal cold start overide dads hasnt got one and moms 2a with 2.8 has got it as a bonnet release catch lol

Tell your Mom not to admit to a bonnet release she can reach from sitting as a driver. I have a feeling that isn't allowed, and we don't want some smart-ass cop bothering her.

I think it's a bit like TV in cars - driver not allowed to see it.
