Do I need a new head unit?

I have a Range Rover Vogue May 2002 (old style, right at the end of the range).

My speakers, front and rear have suddenly all stopped working at the same time. The radio, cd, cassette and sat nav all work but no sound comes out.

And when I turn the ignition on there is a 'click' from the back of the car and if I have the radio switched on, the same 'click' occurs every few minutes.

All relevant fuses are fine.

My existing head unit has never been replaced since I bought the car from new.

Does anyone think the head unit needs replacing or could there be another reason for this?

Thanks.

No, but you might need a new head. Double posting for your first post and not introducing yourself - you will be having visits from the forum etiquette police and no answers to your question(s). Do yourself a favour and get over to the Introduce Yourself section.

Have a little look behind the trim in the nearside of the boot. You might find a knackered amp that would explain your problem.

Then get yourself into the Range Rover section where you'll find the gurus on these cars.
