Hey guys my P38 has developed a whistel almost like fan belt slip but only under load... around 2250 rpm upwards and it increses with the engine speed and falls ect.. but if i rev the engine in n or park iv only once got it to make a noise and i think i was in n doing around 2 to 5 mph... the right cat has got something knocking about in it tho lol

the cat is fooked, if they rattle it means the honeycomb inside (not the kind you eat) had disintegrated (normally caused by fuel getting to the cat)

the whistle is unlikely to be caused by this, it could be a vacuum leak or a split on the air intake or a number of things

I like honeycombe especialy in crunchies lol :) yea sorta guessed the cat had hadit ... the whisle type noise wouldnt be coming from anything in the drive train?? ie auto box props ect???

it will be the lpg that killed the cat, the sensors need to be left in the pipe, but you can remove the cats and put a strait piece of pipe in place of them

a fare few miles away from me then, i'm in essex lol (or if you believe ^^^ i'm in dafts biscuit barrel)

essex isnt that far lol was only up that way the other week :) well iv had a new engine in it cause the other slipped a liner or head prob didnt bother investigating just got turners to send out a nice 4.0 lump with tophats and gas flowed heads.. so iv put it in myself and all been ok until the other day when this whistel started.. mind u it didnt whistle when cold earlier .....???????

just cut out the cats or you can get lambda kits. or if you can extract your sensors just find a suitable nut, drill a hole in exhaust and weld the nut on!

it could be air/exhaust leaks!! are you sure its from outside the car, as in windows closed properly, sunroof closed???

before you go dismembering parts of the car i would check all the silly things, even behind the doorcards there is a plastic sheet to stop wind and draught. if thats not there then it could be that!!!

well im hoping its the exhaust or something only does it after 5 min of driving ie warming up.. cant get it to do it in reverse either lol and i had me head out the window and its quite loud :confused:
