not entirly as if welded square woud fit back as diff carrier is held by caps

but the chances of getting it spot bollock right is very slim mate, more so as its not clamped, it`ll move a bit after welding anyway?
another point is, why take it out of a diff case just to weld it, you`d only do that to renew bearings,
and you`d never do that then weld it up eh..

when i once raced mini`s on a tight budget, a mate of mine "done" a mini diff for me to try..
he doubled the endfloat washer/bushes on the 4 planet gears,
by all acounts a right bar steward to refit as they were over tight, but gave the impression of a locked diff, but would "let go" when under a lot of pressure.
(instead of breaking the drive shafts!)
I never really liked locked diffs on front wheel drive so took it out after a few races though, as I used a dab of left foot braking when racing on the small ovals..:blabla:
