Dismantling wing mirror assembly

Hello all, is it possible to swap the internals of one wing mirror to another? The reason I ask is that I have a 6pin mirror on my car but the car is 10 pin, I have a 10 pin mirror but the skin is black metal whereas the ones on the car are plastic. Any help greatly appreciated.

Don't know, a case of suck it and see i would have thought. Get the two together and compare the mounting positions.

The fixing points are the same the extra pins are for mirror memory , I don't know weather they are wires with the same colour wire or if the connect block is the same if the couloirs match in the block apart from the unused ones then I would say yes.
