Discovery2 vibration/noise at exactly 2500 rpm, ideas what it is?

I looked this up recently as I have the exact rattle in my Discovery 2 at exactly the same rpm. Surprisingly only took a minute to find it’s the block bolted on next to the transmission (hand brake) drum. It has dropped (it moves up and down due being a bit loose) and rests against the main chassis causing the rattle. You can easily reach under with one arm from the driver side with the door open and push the accelerator with the other. Rattle stops when you lift it from touching the chassis rail. It’s a 15mm nut by the handbrake drum that holds the arm of that block, once tightened, problem fixed. I’m going to try loctite next time as the nut periodically comes loose and the rattle starts.Cheers Rob

Just to stir the water a bit. My Disco has this dreaded 2.5k rpm rattle, but I don’t have this “block” by handbrake drum. Was this damper fitted to all models? Mine is 2003 year model
