Hi
I have a 2001 Discovery TD5 which has blown its head gasket. I have taken the head off locking the flywheel with the LR tool and also locking the camshaft with the correct tool. The thing that I neglected to do is to rotate the crankshaft until the camshaft sprocket timing mark was between the two bright links on the chain. I have two questions that someone may know the answer too.
1. If I replace the head with the crankshaft and camshaft locked with the correct pins, will the timing be correct irrespective of not having the bright links in the chain at the top.
2. If I have to turn the crank to get the two bright links at the top is there any danger of the chain coming off the crankshaft sprocket at the bottom.

Thanks for any help you can give me.
