hi there ihave an 02 disco td5 with 113000 miles having a few probs like missfire /surging around 1500 revs always when cold intermiten when warm also if floored when you lift off she runs on a few secs before slowing down a bit like over boost /scarry . i have replaced feul pump,filter and asy ,feul regulator ,injector harness cleand out ecu ,maf map etc and every plug i can see removed egr and remaped ecu engine sounds a bit clatery when not running good and quite when runing good dont know what to check next any ideas please help:doh:

Throttle potentiometer ;)
 
hi do you think i need new trotel pedal or hooked up to a diagnostic check

Not sure which would be best Nanocom or Hawkeye maybe some kind soul close to you who's got one will pop over n plug it in :(

If that is the problem.....

You would only need to change the pot, second hand pot about £20 I think about £60ish for a new one.

had the guy round to fauld find and he found a lot but most of wich i had disconected stuff with engine running he cleared them checked again there gone does remap ecu then checked again for codes 2 days later none but she still runs rough i found a lot of black stuff in tank when recently cheked chockin filter of new pump just not gettin it now

Mike your injectors are electric controled by the ecu, the ecu could be sending a good electric signal to the injectors, but the injector could not be operating correctly. so a test of the injectors is necessary.could be a spec of dirt or something in the nozzle. You need to change all your fuel filters as this could happen to another fuel injector. LR recommends to change fuel filters every 12,000 miles on the td5? Just repeating what LR says so no complaining to me. good luck:D:D:D
 
cheers might this explain why the soot like stuff is in the tank
could be the stuff in the fuel over time settling out better there than in the injectors. Thats why it is important to change fuel filters as recommended . there is fine particles of sand in all fuel and will settle out in bottom of tanks along with the condensation to make a muddy goo in the tank, that is why your tank filter and pickup are off the bottom a bit.also the inside of your fuel tank will rust and the splashing of fuel will wash it off and settle in bottom of tank, so keep your tank full of fuel and that will help with your tank not rusting
 
ok had guy down for diag and live data found nothing then my bro sugested a pint of engine oil in the feul tank after good run she purs like a cat but reeks out whiteish smoke as to be expected puttin oil in the feul
 
cheers to fur trapper spot on new injector seals /washers missfire /surging gone throttel control exellant turns out 2 of the washers were leaking pressure back into feul return this cuasing aereated feul poor running:)
