Hi everyone i have purchased a td5 auto to refurbish i stripped the engine bay to do some work in the engine bay and also stripped the seats and the centre consul now that i have replaced everything came to start it up everything came on but it didnt turn over at all do you think it could be a flat battery not having enough power to fire it up the battery has been out of the car about a month.
Cheers

Hi Winny,

Having a fully charged battery will always be a good, thing, even if it is just to eliminate that from being a cause of a problem.

Are you using the fob to lock / unlock it? or the key?
Is the immobiliser light in the dash acting correctly to show the immobiliser is functioning correctly?
Have you tried unlocking with the fob and then trying to start straight away?

Cheers

Hi Neilly
Thanks for the reply i am unlocking with the fob and as far as i know the immobiliser light is working ok but i will check it after work and i will get the battery charged overnight
Cheers

Hi Winny,

The reason for unlocking and starting straight away is that the passive immobiliser re-sets after 30 secs. If you have a key fob without the passive chip in it then you would have to relock and unlock with the fob. ( the reason there may be no passive chip is if the key internals are from a Rover 45 / 75).

Cheers
