Discovery td5 diff problem

Hi chaps, I've got a 2000 discovery td5 and my front diff has failed, the pinion and crown wheel have excessive wear, and I'm wanting to know if a diff from a discovery 1 300tdi 24 spline would fit? If anybody has changed one of these before?

no pal they dont fit i tried the other way round and the casings are different

It could fit as long as the part number is FTC5142/TBB000250 ...there are 300Tdi's with the same diff as D2's, see compatibility list here FTC5142 AXLE DIFFERENTIAL ASSEMBLY | Defender 1985>: Axle | shop | www.lrseries.com | L. R. Series check the axle code too to make sure
